Ok so I just read that David Beckham is going to sign with the L.A. Galaxy. His new contract is supposed to be the largest in global sport history...reportedly more than $250 million. Now you can argue that he's a great player...even one of the best. But really, when it comes down to it...the guy kicks a fucking ball around!
Its more the soccer club that I have a problem with. I realize they probably stand to make more having him play but $250 million? I also understand that they probably had to offer him something good to have him move to the USA, but I don't think that is needed. TSN is reporting 5 yr/ $250 million. Just Crazy!

All jokes aside, that's a crazy amount of money. Can't you buy a small country with that or something? Or feed all the starving kids in Africa?

and lets be honest here...he's not michael jordan (who i think is the best athlete of all time)
they don't even say that beckham is even that good anymore. he only started 7 games out of 40 this year. the u.s. team just paid for a brand, thats all.
I heart Michael Jordan. I think I still have his card from the Bulls (but not his rookie card. sniff sniff)
