This guy that plays Kumar in Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle has had some odd t.v. roles that I've seen in the last couple days. He was on 24 as a terrorist soldier and then last night I saw him on Law & Order SVU as a serial rapist. Um....I think this guy needs to find some different roles.

Why are any brown skin-toned guys selling out and playing islamic terrorists in everything? This Kumar guy, and then in 24, there was a Canadian comedian (Shaun Majumbsweiurhwieruiw or something). he played a terrorist too. Are those the only roles available?

I'm not trying to sound mean but how did you remember a last name like that?...let alone attempt to spell it?
I'm not sure what roles are available. I understand that the terrorist thing is probably a sure winner for ratings but I don't particularily like to watch terrorist stuff because it gets me thinking on who could be a terrorist and I don't want to judge. Just as in 24, the normal kid across the street turns out to hold your family hostage and almost kills your kid. AND the father ended up getting nuked.
Did you watch the news the other night? They talked about how a muslim school had windows broken, etc. in Quebec. Then they talked about how the majority of Quebecers consider themselves racist. This makes me feel bad because the kids were saying how scared they were that their school had been vandalized...this is the kind of shit that starts it.

I know, perpetuating the stereotype. (His name is something like Majumder, but I just typed on coz I wasn't sure)

I was definitely disappointed that that was the way they portrayed that kid. That is could be anybody. And I guess in many ways it's a sign of the way things are now. And in the case of 24, I notice they do have islamic type characters portrayed as fighting for the "good guys" (CTU), but they are always more fair-skinned Muslims.

Anyways, I was always aware of the way hollywood portrays groups of people. That's like how most asians probably didn't get any roles up until maybe 5-10 years ago unless it had martial arts in it, slavery, or you were in MASH! ahahhahah

Oh and I particularly liked how they made that construction contractor neighbor from down the street, how ignorant, redneck and violent he was towards Kumar (even though he happen to be correct, by fluke). That's not a stereotype about construction at all! ahahah.
