CBC

So today I am home getting over a cold....so I tuned in to watch some Olympics. The only thing on is Women's hockey...yeah great. I don't like to watch womens hockey because its normally boring ie: the high scoring routes unleashed from team Canada. I, for one, don't like the mentality of the Canadian womens team. Its not right to annihilate opponents where only 100 women in the entire country play the sport ie: Russia/Italy. The thing that pissed me off most was this CBC announcer was defending the Canadian women team by saying that "in order to win the Gold medal, they have to seize every opportunity to score or they will lose the instinct". I think the camera man should've rammed his camera in her head. I played competitive hockey growing up. I've been on some amazing teams that won everything. If we played a team that was not up to par we wouldn't score 16 goals and keep playing like its for the Stanley Cup. Its called backing off. Sure, you still shoot on goal and play physical but you let the other team breakout and take some shots on your goalie. For shits sake, I remember playing a team from Red Deer when I was 15. They were destroying us. They backed off and still kicked our asses 19-o. I will never forget that ass kicking and I know what its like to be on both sides of that scenario.
Now, I just finished watching a great game between Sweden and the U.S. Sweden won in a shootout. They are in the Gold medal game against who ever wins between Finland and Canada. I'm all for rooting for Canada, but I hope that Finland gives them a royal ass kicking and if they can't do it, I hope that Sweden does.
As for the CBC announcers....get some new ones or just keep Ron and Cherry on.

what about the goal differential excuse? i bet the canadians were already holding up on those games b/c the score probably could have been double that.

I watched those games and they didn't hold up. They were relentless. How come Wichenheiser is playing on the womens team anyways...thats a man!
